Right now, the State Government is looking closely at the Great forest National Park and a decision on the fate of the forests is imminent! The campaign needs you now more than ever. 

Feel free to join us for one or two hours on Thursday 27April from 10:00am - 4:00pm to contact Wilderness Society supporters who live in electorates of key MPs, and invite them to call or meet with their MP about the GFNP.

We're at a crucial point in the campaign and drawing on all elements to encourage our decision makers to create the Great Forest National Park in the Central Highlands, and the Emerald Link in East Gippsland. 

If you haven't participated in a community calling session before, this is an excellent opportunity to come and learn about the power of creating change through conversation, meet some of the team, and empower people to act. We'll provide full training and support.

We're aiming to push the Park over the line, and every conversation counts.

Can the industry’s current situation really be the fault of one tiny possum?
No, it can’t. For logging industry and unions to point the finger at a critically endangered species is mistaken at best, disingenuous at worst.

Why is the Great Forest National Park the better way forward?
Because it will save a species from extinction and create 760 new full-time jobs. The best solution for the long-term is to protect Victoria’s Mountain Ash forests in the Great Forest National Park.

What do Victorians think about the Great Forest National Park?
Well, 93% of Victorians want these forests protected for wildlife, tourism and recreation, and for a safe climate—and, in regional Victoria, support for industry reform is strong.

Can the government protect the possum and support workers?
Victorians want solutions that protect the environment and put industry on a truly sustainable footing, including to secure regional jobs - both in the industry and in the other significant sectors of tourism and agriculture.
