Public Planning Laws Under Attack

The Hodgman Government is 'reforming' Tasmania's planning laws to make it easier for developers to gain approvals by weakening protections, watering down assessment rigor and winding back public engagement and opportunities to appeal.

This is complex, detailed and happening right now. One day it will affect you - when a development is built in your favourite national park or reserve, when apartments are built overshadowing your backyard or the character and amenity of you neighbourhood is altered for good.

An alliance of groups is fighting back with information. Find out more at an upcoming public meeting.

Town planning (or lack of it) can make or break communities, towns, cities.
Bob Cotgrove would be a very useful person to offer his views at this meeting. He has a great deal of valuable experience. I don;t have an email address but I can try & drop him a note in his letter box.

Self-seeking, egocentric men in suits and shiny shoes pandering to the wishes of other profit-driven, ‘development at any price’ men in suits and shiny shoes. Our world is slowly dying a death of a thousand cuts because of the continuing actions of types such as these and the sooner we are rid of them all the better off our world will be!
