There's an election on, and that's a chance to explore policies and understand the future that individual candidates stand for. Given it's an unusual scenario - a double dissolution, meaning the whole federal parliament is up for election we're giving the opportunity to Tasmanian senate candidates to front up and talk to their policies on climate and environment.
Billed as a "double discussion" forums are planned in June for Launceston, Hobart, Wynyard, Deloraine and Rosny. The Australian Labor and Greens parties have confirmed their attendance at the forums while Independent Senators and the Liberal party are considering our invitation.
We want to tell you and other members about this chance to engage with the people who could be making the decisions affecting their future. You can volunteer to do a couple of hours of calls during the day or early evening this June 2016. If you have the time and inclination - its lots of fun - please contact Liz Johnstone on 044 867 8897 or email.
