Join us as we stage a 'die-in' at Alcoa's office in Booragoon to protest the company's proposed bauxite mining expansion which will lead to the destruction of over 75km2 of native jarrah forest.
This mining threatens the survival of endangered black cockatoos, as well as Perth’s drinking water supply, while none of Alcoa’s required rehab meets government standards. Species like black cockatoos are facing extinction due to habitat loss and could be gone in less than two decades if mining continues.
This action will also coincide with Alcoa's AGM, a time when shareholders can bring their concerns directly to the company, which is what we'll be doing as well.
Alcoa must hear our demands loud and clear that we oppose their destruction of the Northern Jarrah Forest and they must end forest mining now!
