• calls out our failing community rights system; and
• provides a hopeful vision of a better future.

This is one of several similar events being held across Australia!

Right across our country communities are saying no to fossil fuel developments, but Governments are still backing climate-wrecking industry ahead of people and nature.

These mindless decisions are being made as we are left in the wake of yet another climate driven natural disaster.

But it doesn’t have to be this way!

Community matters, and community rights in environmental decision making are a real thing…or at least they should be. 

Where communities do have a real and meaningful say in decisions about the environment we have consistently seen there are better outcomes for climate, nature, and people.

Join us at this one off community forum in Cleveland to hear from members of your community who are taking a stand and working together to fix our broken Community Rights system and end the mindless expansion of the fossil fuel industry.

You’ll also hear from campaigner Dr. Anita Cosgrove about some of the local impacts of these decisions, and how the Wilderness Society plans to work with you towards a better future.
