ABOUT

The Wilderness Society Invites You to our Welcome Night and AVWS 3rd birthday celebration!

The Wilderness Society has an ever expanding network of passionate team leaders, community organisers, and enthusiastic volunteers! For the past 40+ years we have advocated on behalf of the environment, and have had some incredible campaign wins along the way.

Here in the Albert Valley region, we launched our AVWS team about 3 years ago, and they have become a great example of what connected communities can be capable of when they stand together supported by one of the most significant environmental organisations in Australia.

In just over 3 years the team has achieved a great deal including developing relationships with all local, state, and federal MPs, stopping several local developments that threatened significant local environments, working with local schools to start environmental initiatives, participating in our State and Federal election campaigns, hosting multiple workshops, hosting important information sessions like our koala forum, coordinating local bushwalks, getting stories about the environment covered in local press etc etc.

This night will be a way for you to find out how you can be a part of this progressive movement. It is your opportunity to learn about our innovative, new organising program. You will also meet your fellow community members and connect on shared values and passions!

There will be food and drinks provided. Feel free to invite friends and family! Just remember to RSVP first. We look forward to seeing you March 18th at 6pm at the Cedar Creek Hall
