Join us as we push together for better koala protection in Queensland!
Where: The Wilderness Society office - 67 Boundary St, West End (Upstairs)
When: Tuesday 25th of June, 11 am - 2 pm
What to bring: Just your phone and yourself!
The Queensland government will soon adopt a new Koala Conservation Strategy, so we need to make sure this strategy is strong and is enacted as soon as possible! Indeed, the koalas' population has declined by 80% in the Coast sites and by 54% in the Pine Rivers in Southeast Queensland sites between 1996 and 2014...
To do so, we will organise on the Saturday 13th of July along with the Queensland Conservation Council a 'Koala Meet Your MP workshop' with wildlife carers from Southeast Queensland and Wilderness Society supporters involved in the koalas' campaign. Different speakers will talk about the need for strong protections for koalas in Queensland and we will organise a training to lobby your own MP.
Together we will call these people to let them know how significant the opportunity before us is, and we will invite them to our 'Koala Meet your MP workshop'!
These sessions are a great way for anyone to make a contribution, no matter your age or experience, and to meet new like-minded people friends. Full training is provided and support staff are always on hand.
If you have any question, don't hesitate to contact our Campaign Manager Gemma Plesman on 0423 044 431.
