Hands Across The Sand - Royal Park, Launceston

Since the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico in 2010, people have gathered around the world annually to join hands and say no to dirty fuels and yes to clean energy. In Australia, we stand to protect our oceans and marine life from the threat of offshore drilling by multinational corporations in the Great Australian Bight, one of the most important whale nurseries on the planet.

After the recent Senate Inquiry stalemate, the Bight’s future is murkier than ever. But one thing is crystal clear: the only people standing up for the Bight are people like you.

Join us on this international day of action and help keep big oil out of the Great Australian Bight.

For healthy oceans and a safe planet

It is lovely to know that the whales are gathering right now at the nursery grounds in the Bight. I am with them and will make the most of the rain if it comes to Launceston early!
