The Wilderness Society will be Marching for Nature this October ahead of the first ever Global Nature Positive Summit! This is a crucial moment to show up when the Albanese government has the global stage to demonstrate that communities want nature laws that actually work to protect nature.
Come along and send a message to the Albanese government and representatives from governments around the world that strong nature laws are urgently needed to:
🌳 stop deforestation,
🦘end extinctions, and
🌍ensure the public has a fair say in decisions that impact their environment.
The time to act is now—wildlife and ecosystems cannot afford further delays.
The march will start in the Domain, and finish at Mrs Macquarie's Chair in the Botanic Gardens for a distance of approximately 1.2km.
Afterwards there will be a fun ‘festival for nature', with talks, performances, art projects, and other activities for all ages.
Make sure to RSVP in the top right hand corner of this page so that we know how many banners to bring. Provide your phone number so that we can text you updates on the day.
Let’s celebrate nature and be a part of this historic moment!

What to expect:
- Let's highlight the animals, plants and places we love that we risk losing forever. We encourage you to bring pictures, paint signs, or come with costumes or props that show the nature you want saved.
- This event is for people of all ages and walks of life, and is family-friendly. Because we all love nature.
- The march will be followed by a fun ‘festival for nature', with talks, performances, art projects, and other activities for the whole family.
- We strive to make the March for Nature as accessible as possible. It will include a 1.2km walk between The Domain and Mrs Macquarie’s Chair in the botanic gardens. If you have any accessibility questions, please get in contact.
- More speakers, performers and partners are to be announced – stay tuned!
