ABOUT

The Mt Coot-tha we all love is threatened by privatisation and the construction of a tourism precinct, beginning with a proposed mega zipline. Together we can save our beautiful mountain & Mt Coot-tha Botanical Gardens!

We've been trying to get a meeting with the Hon Dr Anthony Lynham, Minister for Natural Resources, Mining & Energy since February. Join us at his office to send a strong message to this top decision maker, calling on him to instruct BCC not to proceed with their Mega Zipline proposal for the Mount Coot-tha Precinct due to deleterious impacts to local green space, local communities & the iconic heritage values of Mount Coot-tha & the Botanical Gardens.

The Deed of Grant in Trust (DOGIT), for the lands on which the Mount Coot-tha precinct is located, were designed to protect the land for public enjoyment. Instead, the Zipline Project uses public land for profit by a private company.

BCC have released the Development Application to the public but not the Land Management Plan which needs to be approved by the Hon Dr Anthony Lynham in order for the Zipline Project to proceed even though this is required under the Land Act for the proposed change in use of the land.
