Engaging with local media is integral to raising the profile of local groups and local issues. How we tell our stories for maximum impact in local papers, on radio and tv can really boost our work.
Damian Ogden, National Organising Manager at The Wilderness Society, will share his insights, tips and tricks for engaging local media in the second of four national training webinars that we hope will bring us closer together as a national collective, at the same time as honing some bonza organising skills.
You can expect to learn:
- What local media outlets are out there and who has the most influence
- How to grow relationships with journalists
- The art of timing it right
- Writing savvy press releases that cut through the white noise
- How to craft "sticky" sound bites for radio/film
If you have a wishlist, let us know and we'll either weave it into the session, or create a way to run another one.
