Protect Nature 2026 – Briefing: Building a movement for Nature!
Victoria’s national parks and nature protections are under sustained political attack. Despite overwhelming public support, conservation is being sidelined in favour of loud minority interests.
In response, a broad group of conservation organisations from across Victoria have been working together to build a major, coordinated Protect Nature campaign. This campaign will roll out from March/April and build through mid-2026.
We’re inviting you to a one-hour online briefing to share the campaign pitch, outline what’s coming, and call in people who are willing to play active roles in the rollout. Thursday 12 February 6:30–8:00pm (online - link will be shared closer to the date)
This session is for conservation and community organisations (metro and regional), campaigners, organisers, trusted local leaders, volunteers and allies who want to help turn community support for nature into real political pressure.
In this session we will:
• Introduce the campaign and shared strategy
• Explain how the campaign is designed to improve the protection and restoration of Victoria's forests, grasslands, oceans and wildlife
• Outline the campaign timeline, tools and centrally produced assets
• Identify where leadership and on-the-ground involvement is most needed
• Invite participants to step into coordinating, outreach and local leadership roles
