🤔 Have you ever wondered how to make your submission more impactful?
🤔 Or have you ever struggled to talk to your friends and family about problems in nature?
🤔 Have you ever admired someone for telling their story at an event, and wondered if you could similarly motivate others?
Join our online workshop to learn skills to help you creatively and succinctly share why an issue matters to you.
What: Workshop to turn your personal story into a powerful message for all campaigns
When: Wednesday, 24 July, 2024, 6 - 8pm
Where: online via Zoom
Accessibility: please contact Grace on [email protected] with your needs.

Sharing a story about what you and your volunteer group do together is the difference between your MP talking to their Minister rather than dismissing your concerns.
Sharing a powerful story about how deforestation impacts your life is the difference between recruiting 10 or 60 people to an event to demand stronger laws.
Hundreds of Wilderness Society volunteers have previously used storytelling to write impactful letters to their MP, motivate others in their community to act, convince an editor to publish their letter, have their submission valued during a parliamentary inquiry, and to connect with other volunteers during training sessions and meetings.
Developing skills and taking action together with others is more fun than creating change on your own. By the end of our time together, you will have:
- learned how to write one or more mini-personal stories describing why your concerned about nature, forest protection and/or community rights
- context for the multiple ways your story can be used for impact
- connected with other like-minded people in NSW and more directly with a few
- text ready to add to campaign-specific content for multiple tactics in the next 1-3 months
- knowledge of new opportunities and next steps for the New Laws, NSW Forests, and also Community Rights in Environmental Decisions campaigns
- opportunities to improve your story(s) and practice writing and delivering them within our Wilderness Society community
“I feel motivated and excited to take my new skills to encourage more people to join” Tahlia-Rose, after a recent Wilderness Society event in Sydney.
