We have all worked extremely hard this year we and have a lot to celebrate!
The Newcastle Wilderness Society's board members, staff and volunteers are all invited to our end of year celebration.
Thursday 7th December 2017
12.00pm Lunch at the community gardens at Kooragang island,
1.00pm Tree planting around 100 native trees at the same location with the assistance of Gavin Farley.
Lunch will be provided so your RSVPs are important to make sure we have enough for everyone. I'll also need to know in advance if you have any dietary requirements. The lunch will be vegetarian.
Please wear suitable clothes for gardening if you're going to help with planting trees.( long sleeved shirt, hat, closed shoes, sunscreen and bring a water bottle )
I've put a map below to help you with finding the location. The community garden is just under where it says Kooragang City Farm.
I'm going to collect together and acknowledge all of our achievements as volunteers this year and Gavin Farley who is the land services officer from the Hunter Local Land Services is going to talk to us briefly about Kooragang island and the revegetation programs there.
I hope you can join us!
Charlotte.
