ABOUT

The Tasmanian Wilderness Society and Grassroots Action Network Northern Tasmania invite you to 'People (For)ests'

In 2024 The Wilderness Society received information that the State government and Forestry Tasmania have been secretly collaborating on the transfer of 39000ha of reserved forest to Permanent Timber Production Zone (PTPZ).
During the 2012 Tasmanian Forest Agreement (TFA) industry was paid out hundreds of millions of $$$ by the taxpayer to not log these forests.
They are now, once again, under threat.

Attendees will hear more on the history of Lutruwitas forests, the importance they hold to all, more on their renewed threat and how to be a part of protecting them.

A free lunch will be provided after the session.

Stick around for the afternoon session 'Forest Survey Skills' @1PM

This event will be taking place on stolen lands of the palawa people.
