“As part of a community of like-minded people, I now have the direction, purpose and skills to translate my passion into tangible, meaningful action” - Chris Farrow, course graduate.

We are excited to offer a Community Organising Training course based on Movement for Life -  to Wilderness Society volunteers and supporters.

When was the last time you did something bold and different in the pursuit of growth and learning? Do you care about nature protection and do you have a yearning to be more effective in this space? Yes? Then this is for you!

Our community organising program is all about immersing yourself in an incredible learning and development experience so that collectively we can better protect, promote and restore Wilderness across Australia.

The program will include an overview of the campaign to protect the Great Australian Bight from Big Oil threats, with a focus on what local coastal communities have achieved so far. We will also cover:

1 - Getting to the heart of the matter—values based communication and 1:1 conversations
2 - The power of story—Using personal narrative to motivate people
3 - Making an effective ask—How to inspire others to take action with us
4 - Choosing an issue and making a plan—Creating a campaign to win

This is our first training in Port Fairy - it's shaping up to be an exciting year and we are looking forward to winning our campaigns together with you!

This course is free. Please ensure you let us know if you have mobility issues or anything else we need to take into consideration.

Saturday 24th February, 1:30pm to 8:30pm

See you there!

Sorry, this event is sold out.
