Want to get on the inside of the campaign to end deforestation? Interested in learning about strategy, negotiating with politicians and driving key research tasks forward? Come along to the Deforestation Campaign Team info night to find out how!
Last year, with your help, we achieved some great outcomes in the campaign to end deforestation. With Labor now in government we are very close to having laws reintroduced to control rampant deforestation. But there's much more to do to ensure those laws are strong enough that the worst of the deforestation is stopped. Every year, 45 million native animals are killed because of deforestation. We have a plan to end this crisis and push for historic land restoration.
The Wilderness Society in Queensland are on the look out for a small but effective team of volunteers to help drive the campaign forward. This team will work alongside the incredible regional Movement for Life teams, and their members, to provide support for their work and advocacy!
If you're passionate about ending deforestation and helping protect nature for the long term in Queensland come along to this meeting. Areas of professional development and mentoring we provide to all volunteers of TWS teams include:
- Strategy development
- Communications and outreach
- Research for campaign development
- Advocacy and political engagement
- Project and event management
