Join The Wilderness Society for a beautiful nature walk on Coochiemudlo Island, one of the hidden gems of Moreton Bay.
Take the short 10-minute ferry ride from Victoria Point across to this peaceful island paradise, keeping an eye out along the way for dolphins, dugongs and turtles. Our walk will take us along the shoreline, through wetlands and beneath towering eucalyptus trees alive with birdlife. Coochiemudlo is also well known for its resident Bush Stone-curlews, often seen wandering quietly through the island landscape. Along the way, we’ll also learn a little about the rich Quandamooka cultural connections to the island, as well as some fascinating European history. After our exploration, stay on for a coffee or bite to eat at the lovely Curlew Café. Come along and enjoy a relaxed morning immersed in nature, wildlife and local history in the heart of Moreton Bay.
