ABOUT

Australia is in the midst of a deforestation crisis. Right here in Queensland, hundreds of thousands of hectares of life-giving forests and bushland are bulldozed every year— destroying the homes of iconic species like the Koala, Greater Glider and Red Goshawk.

The Albanese Government promised stronger environmental laws, but so far, they have not delivered.

The Albanese Government is re-writing nature laws as we speak.

Now is your chance to show support for strong laws that stop deforestation and protect wildlife. It’s time for us to come together as a community to call for strong environmental protections that actually stop the bulldozers and safeguard Australia’s iconic species.

At this forum, you’ll learn more about Queensland’s deforestation crisis, its impact on nature and climate and how you can help drive positive change to ensure Australia’s unique forests and bushland and the people and nature that call them home are adequately protected.

We’ll be inviting your Federal MPs to ensure they hear directly from their community the message they must take to Federal Minister for the Environment, Senator Murray Watt, as he continues to reform our national nature law, the EPBC Act.

We’ll be capturing photos and videos from the event to showcase your voice and energy which we send directly to the Federal Environment Minister.

To wrap up the day, we’ll also have a chance to spot a koala with the help of the team from Whites Hill Bushcare group.
