The Great Australian Bight lives up to its name – endless cliffs towering over a vast, unspoiled ocean full of wild and wonderful marine life, including one of the largest populations of the endangered southern right whale. But BP wants to drill for oil and gas in these waters, just like it did in the Gulf of Mexico - which ended in disaster for local species, tourism and the fishing industry.

BP has a terrible track record and can’t be trusted not to spoil our southern coastline. BP has no right to risk the Great Australian Bight.1

We have an opportunity in the election to make our federal leaders take a lead and kick BP out of the Bight for good. This Federal Election the Wilderness Society is putting direct pressure on MPs and candidates in key seats but we can’t do it without your help.

In South Australia we are talking to people in the marginal seat of Hindmarsh about BP's plan to drill in the Great Australian Bight through door knocking and phone calls.

There is lots to do, no contribution is too small and every voice makes a difference.
