Ever wondered what is involved in volunteering for the Wilderness Society or perhaps you just love a good hike in the wilderness?

On Sunday 2nd December our volunteers will be hosting a hike and picnic at Para Wirra Conservation Park to talk about some of the activities we do and why we do them.

Come along with questions and we can and understand what it means to be a volunteer in a relaxed and casual environment. It's also just a great opportunity to soak up some nature, see some local wild orchids, wildlife, scenery, and make new friends with genuinely amazing people.

If this interests you get out your activewear, put your hiking shoes and join us on Sunday.

The hike will start at 10am and will be 2-3 hours long with an hour for the picnic (4 hours total). The hike difficulty could be considered easy to moderate so all ages and fitness levels are welcome.

Make sure you bring:

some food to share at the picnic,

a bottle of water,

sunscreen and a hat.

Details of the conservation park can be found at:

Our meeting place will be

The Gawler View Carpark, which can be reached via the west entrance, 443 Humbug Scrub Rd, Yattalunga SA 5114
