ABOUT

Communities working together to Unite the Bight

At this moment, our coastlines are under threat from Big Oil companies planning to drill in the pristine Great Australian Bight.
Risky deep sea drilling could mean a devastating oil spill, but will also mean increased marine traffic - all putting our wildlife, tourism, fisheries and recreation at risk. Also, opening up a new fossil fuel basin in the Bight will make climate change impacts much worse.

Unite the Bight is bringing together our vibrant coastal communities - whole regions that live off the ocean. People who respect and know that our environment needs to remain clean and healthy so that we can continue to thrive.

In this workshop we will explore ways to protect our coasts and oceans from Big Oil, including:

  • conversations for action
  • campaign updates
  • strategic planning

Come along and find out what you can do to unite the Bight and protect our coastlines and climate for the future.

Join us after the workshop for Streaky Bay SoundBight - free music in the pub from 4pm by Jodi Martin and Henry Smale.

Please RSVP to this event for materials provisions purposes.
