Social Impact Analyst

This Role

We’re looking a data cruncher. Someone who makes sure we’re effectively using the data available to measure our social impact; both for our campaigns and for mobilising. Someone who also thinks strategically and enjoys working in a team.


This position is a part of The Crusaders: a team dedicated to mobilising the Wilderness Society supporters and to raise public awareness of nature issues here in WA.

Who Are We?

The Wilderness Society WA (TWSWA) is a not for profit community based conservation organisation dedicated to the protection and restoration of our wilderness and wildlife in Australia.

Since it was established in 1976 to help save the Franklin River, the Wilderness Society has been involved in the protection of over 7 million hectares of irreplaceable wilderness. The Society’s conservation victories include the protection of magnificent wild places such as Kakadu National Park, Fraser Island, Queensland’s Daintree tropical rainforests, the old growth forests of Western Australia and the southern forests of New South Wales.

Role:  Actions Officer - Social Impact

Role Type: Unpaid Volunteer Role

Location: TWS HQ Perth, City West Lotteries House, 2 Delhi Street, West Perth.

Hours: 0.2 FTE (One day a week), minimum 3 month commitment (Day flexible)

 

What Would I Be Doing?

  • Collaborate with the Wilderness Society WA staff and volunteer staff on collecting, presenting and analysing campaign & community organisers data.

  • Coordinate the complying of key reports for internal and external parties + present ongoing tracking of programs at our monthly team meetings.

  • Maintain and update our CRM

  • Research and implement best practice for measuring social impact.

 

Who Should Apply?

You don’t have to be an expert, however we are looking for someone who:

  • Has some knowledge & experience in evaluation and or social impact;

  • Has analytical and quantitative skills + data analysis;

  • Is willing to learn more and expand their knowledge on social impact measurement;

  • Has organisational skills and ability to work under pressure and manage competing deadlines;

  • Is  flexible with their time and are available for meetings outside of hours ongoingly on a monthly basis;

  • Has the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the team and organisation;

  • Values integrity and has high levels of professionalism and attention to detail;

  • Works well within a team environment and enjoys working with likeminded people.

 

Commitments

  • One day a week at the TWS WA Office

  • Attendance to our monthly organisational reporting, check-in and social event

  • Attend a training and induction weekend, Saturday 4th & Sunday 5th July

  • Willingness to take direction and feedback
