Join us from 5:30pm on November 14 as we chat about the Spero-Wanderer Wilderness and our ongoing campaign for the area. The event will also take place during Grant Dixon’s exhibition ‘Forgotten Wilderness -The Spero Wanderer Region’.
The ‘Spero-Wanderer Wilderness’ area is a unique, remote and frequently overlooked 130,000ha area located along the highly remote south-western coastline of Lutruwita/Tasmania, south of Macquarie Harbour. This incredible, wild and rugged region is home to some of the most vast and remote landscapes outside the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area.
Over the next 8 weeks, The Wilderness Society Tasmania is sending three teams to survey the area for ecological values and assess damage from mining exploration.
Join us for an evening of recapping our first trip of the summer (2-6 Nov) and spruiking the missions to come (16-22 Nov, 7-12 Dec). There will be a presentation and panel discussion at Wild Island Tasmania - including long-time campaigner for the area Geoff Law, and campaigners from the Wilderness Society Tasmania. It is also a great opportunity to check out Grant Dixon's photographs! RSVP now!

This event will be held on stolen Palawa land. We acknowledge and pay our respects to the many generations of staunch warriors and activists whom have been fighting for Country since colonisation began. Sovereignty was never ceded.
