Join our online National Campaigns Night to hear about this new stage of our campaign for transparent and accountable national nature laws.
If you believe that we need a national nature law that actually protects our unique and significant environment, and a Government that actually listens to community, make sure you join this event to learn how you can contribute to achieving these changes.
Our national environment laws are not currently working to protect the environment and leave many of Australia's animals facing extinction. Almost all projects (99.7%) assessed by the Federal Government get rubber-stamped, with just 2% later knocked back by the courts.
The Albanese government is currently drafting the national environmental laws and initial environmental standards, and plans to publish them in late 2023.
So now is the opportunity for us to put pressure on the Federal Government to act comprehensively with more urgency to stop threats to important habitat for threatened species, and to safeguard our natural places. We must demand a system with integrity, forcing governments and corporations to be accountable to communities when making decisions about the environment.
