Are you a constituent of the Reid federal electorate?
The Cooks River Wilderness Society Community Group invites you to this message writing event to our MP for Reid, Sally Sitou.
In May this year, our Wilderness Society community group met with 20 community members to reimagine our future where nature and community thrives.
This vision is in conflict with the current trajectory of our environment, that is "protected" by our broken federal nature law.
We came together demonstrate to Sally that her community expects nature laws that actually protect forests and stop extinctions. Sally was unable to attend our event, so instead, we took a group photo and requested to meet with her to discuss the concerns raised by her community.
She declined to meet with us.
Since Sally is unable to meet with us, we've decided to deliver to her a greeting card with messages from her constituents, demonstrating to her that her community expects her and her government to enact laws that actually:
-
Stop deforestation 🌳
-
End the extinction crisis and; 🐨
-
Provide a fair say for communities, not just corporations 📢
This is the card that we will be writing on:
The government has an urgent, once-in-a-generation opportunity to step up and pass nature laws that work.
Will you join us in writing messages to Sally letting her know that you care about strong laws that actually protect nature?
Please add your RSVP at the top right of this page!
We hope to see you there,
The Wilderness Society’s Cooks River group.
