You’re invited to a free Meet Your MP / Effective Submission Writing workshop to be held in Gordon on Tuesday afternoon 29 October 2019!

At the Wilderness Society we believe that it is important for a community to be better equipped to engage in the political process and build strong relationships with their local decision makers. We are therefore very excited to invite you to attend our free one-off training workshop: Meet Your MP / Effective Submission Writing in collaboration with WildThings NSW!

Program on the day:

12:30pm - 1:00pm - Sign in
1:00pm - 2:30pm: Workshop 1: Meet Your MP. Presenter - Nat Rowed, Sydney Community Organiser

2:45pm - 4:30pm: Workshop 2 Content: Writing effective submissions to Governments. Presenter - Suzanne Milthorpe, National Laws Campaign Manager

Meet Your MP – This workshop will cover everything from how to secure a meeting, how to prepare, what to take with you, what to say in the meeting and, following the meeting, how to have a productive debrief and follow up on commitments made.
Presenter: Nat Rowed, Sydney Community Organiser, TWS

Effective Submission Writing – This workshop will focus on how to write an effective submission and letter to key decision makers. Various topics such as koalas, deforestation, habitat protection, feral animals like brumbies in Kosciusko National Park, new national environment laws and other topics individuals are interested in can be used as examples during the workshop. Bring along your ideas on an issue you are passionate about and our experts will be on hand to help you develop your ideas into a plan.
Presenter: Suzanne Milthorpe, National Laws Campaign Manager, TWS

Free refreshments will be available during the afternoon. The venue is a five minute walk from Gordon Railway Station.

Attendance is limited to 30 people and places will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis. As the event is less than four weeks away, early booking will assist us with set-up and catering.
