On Thursday 15th October 4-5pm, join us for a Tassie Devil crafts and treasure hunt session!
Tasmanian devils and our species of quolls are the largest remaining marsupial carnivores on earth! Pretty cool right? Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be one?
This activity teaches kids about these wonderful species during a themed art workshop - and ends off with a treasure hunt, where we pretend to be devils and quolls living in the old growth understoreys...
Nature Book Week (October 10-18) is The Wilderness Society’s annual celebration of nature and storytelling, involving a free series of nature-themed events for storytellers of all ages. This year, we’re turning the Launceston office into a storytelling hub, with a drop in space open Tuesday 13 - Saturday 17th, including readings, art-making, book giveaways, refreshments, prizes and workshops. The 2026 shortlist for the Karajia and Environment awards for Children’s Literature will be featured, plus there will be a 40% discount on all books storewide for the whole week!
This event will take place on the sovereign and unceded lands of the Palawa people, the rightful owners of Lutruwita/Tasmania.
Parking & Public Access: Street parking is available although it is minimal. Public transport is available within 100 metres of the venue. The event will be held downstairs, which is wheelchair accessible.
