On Friday 16th October 2-3pm, make art with your favourite plants and the sun!
In this workshop we will learn how to create cyanotype prints, which are a traditional method of photography that keeps the blueprint of placed objects after being exposed to the sun (UV light). Bring samples of your favourite plants or use the ones provided 🌱
If time allows, we will explore other ways of making prints with plants, such as leaf stamping!

Nature Book Week (October 10-18) is The Wilderness Society’s annual celebration of nature and storytelling, involving a free series of nature-themed events for storytellers of all ages. This year, we’re turning the Launceston office into a storytelling hub, with a drop in space open Tuesday 13 - Saturday 17th, including readings, art-making, book giveaways, refreshments, prizes and workshops. The 2026 shortlist for the Karajia and Environment awards for Children’s Literature will be featured, plus there will be a 40% discount on all books storewide for the whole week!
This event will take place on the sovereign and unceded lands of the Palawa people, the rightful owners of Lutruwita/Tasmania.
Parking & Public Access: Street parking is available although it is minimal. Public transport is available within 100 metres of the venue. The event will be held downstairs, which is wheelchair accessible.
