UPDATE 4pm  20/06/2025:

Hi all,

Due to unforeseen circumstances we have been forced to change the location of the Threatened Forest Open Day this weekend. The event will now be held 15 minutes closer to Maydena, on route to the former location, at the intersection of Styx and Mueller roads.

The forest will still have an amazing diversity of fungi, beautiful rainforest, and giant trees. The schedule for the day remains the same :)

Exact location here:

https://maps.app.goo.gl/8kLHMVctjC6iSrfeA // -42.795033, 146.578186.

Directions:

  • From Maydena, continue west on Gordon River Rd
  • Turn right onto Florentine Rd
  • After 200m, turn right onto Styx Rd
  • Continue for 2km / 15 minutes until you reach the intersection of Styx and Mueller Rd
  • Park!

From the meeting location, it is a 15 minute walk up hill to the event hub - which is located here : https://maps.app.goo.gl/DCpHppMqCHTMTkLq7 (-42.790853, 146.584265). We will also have a designated 4WD to shuttle anyone who may not be able to walk the hill.
