ABOUT

The Metro North Wilderness Society invites you to join us for a day of fun, food and learning!

We are holding a picnic at Anzac Park to bring people together and raise awareness about the development threat that faces the rare and threatened Tusk Frog, the Powerful Owl and many other threatened species that call the Toowong Creek home.

The development is planned for the Queensland Academy for Sciences, Mathematics and Technology by the state government and will be devestating to the species that inhabit there.

We are asking for the development to be moved out of the danger zone of this crucial ecosystem.

We have some amazing guest speakers joining us including Dr. Ed Meyer who is a consultant ecologist and frog expert with a longstanding interest in the biology and conservation of Australian frogs as well as Dr Rob Clemens - Powerful Owl Expert and Project Officer Bird Life Australia and speakers from your local Wilderness Society group.

We will also have free food and prizes on the day.

This event is suitable for everyone and all ages so please feel free to invite your friends and family.
