Join Wilderness Society campaigners and visit the majestic forests of the Central Highlands with a splendid educational tour of areas to be in included in the Great Forest National Park.
Escape the daily grind and discover some of the many special pockets the Central Highlands has to offer right on our city’s doorstep. Join us for a stroll along forest walkways, be soothed by the sounds of nature and stand in awe as we look up at the tallest flowering plant in the world—The Mountain Ash.

During the tour we will:
- Meet at 8:45am at the Wilderness Society headquarters in Melbourne’s CBD before driving ~1.5 hrs out of town
- Visit clear-fell logging coupes to uncover the devastating destruction that is plaguing our native forests.
- Enjoy short walks through ancient cool temperate rainforest and tall Mountain Ash forest ecosystems characteristic of the Central Highlands
- Break for lunch - water, tea and coffee are provided but please bring lunch and a water bottle
- Aim to return to the headquarters by 6:30pm (dependent on unforeseeable circumstances such as traffic)
We ask for a donation of $40 per person to help cover costs, enabling us to continue providing these tours in the future.
