Join us and Places You Love for a national day of online action on 1 October to make extinction visible!
Next week, Parliament will sit and the Senate will debate the Morrison Government’s rehashed version of Abbott’s one-stop-shop environment bill.
Movement for Life groups have been at the heart of community action to engage with MPs to stop this bill and advocate for good nature laws that can stop extinction. And we know from watching the ALP, Greens and cross-bench that MPs are starting to listen.
Unfortunately, the Government is still going ahead with its anti-environment amendments.
So, in the week before Parliament sits, various PYL groups are joining a group action to clearly state: Australia wants strong laws that actually protect nature #BeforeItsGone.
Obviously coronavirus means we can’t come together physically to protest right now. But we can still make extinction visible through creative, collaborative action.
So we’re calling on our plushie friends to step up instead!
Are you the proud owner of an Australian animal plush toy or any other teddies? It’s time to dust off that cuddly koala or kangaroo and join the upcoming online plushie protest in support of strong nature laws on 1 October!
