Want to join a like-minded group of Victorians who together, are building an unstoppable network to give nature a voice that can't be ignored? Want to see our politicians truly commit to protecting Victoria’s Tall Forests?
If yes, then RSVP yourself to our Wilderness Society's 2 Day Fundamentals of Community Organising and Campaign Training course in Melbourne.
When: 8:45am–5pm on Saturday, 1 October and 9am–3:30pm on Sunday, 2 October
Our leading community organising and campaign training is all about immersing yourself in a learning and development experience. With the upcoming Victorian State election, we’ll be building the skills to create a strong voice for nature and protecting Victoria’s last remaining tall forests.
Our Victorian Campaigner, Richard Hughes, will present the context and current challenges surrounding Victoria’s tall forest campaign, which we will then put into practice through learning how to hold effective meetings with politicians and candidates , engaging with our local media, and holding community outreach events.
This course will give you experience and skills in:
- The theory and frameworks of community organising
- How to build powerful community networks and relationships
- Communications for change (telling your personal narrative)
- Victorian Campaign planning
- Activating your local community
- Building grassroots groups
Once you’ve completed our 2 Day Fundamentals of Community Organising and Campaigns course, you’ll be well equipped to join our national community organising network who are making real, tangible change for our living world. You'll have the opportunity to work with your local Victorian community group and existing local networks to take effective action on the issues we all care about.
RSVP to reserve your space. Please include your best phone number as we'll call you in the lead up to the training.
Together, we’re putting the power back in the hands of the people.
