ABOUT

Victoria's native threatened species have had a gutful of the inaction from our elected leaders and have decided to take matters into their own handsclaws, paws and talons.

On Sunday 9th September, our native flora and fauna are convening their own Parliament at Melbourne's Parliament Reserve to mark this year's National Threatened Species Day.

If you love all things great and small—especially the unsung heroes of our forest ecosystems like the Slender Tree Fern, Gippsland Giant Earthworm, Alpine Bog Skink or the Long-footed Potoroo to name a very few—come and support their inaugural Parliament where 88 of these fearless threatened plants and critters will take a stand with each of the 88 MPs in the Victorian Lower House to fix the extinction crisis they face.

The mission? Preventing extinction, delivering lasting protection for our forests and creating a new set of national environmental laws that actually work.

When: 11am - 12.30pm on Sunday, 9 September 2018
Where: Parliament Reserve, East Melbourne, 3002
Who: a collaboration of people who love our native threatened plants and animals from around the community. Supported by The Wilderness Society, GECO and FoE.

The Threatened Species Parliament will be colorful, vibrant and filled with the hope for the change we need, and give our forest dependent mates the certainty they need to flourish.

There is something for everyone in this family—friendly daytime shindig, whether you join in as one of the 88 parliamentarians, share on social media, and watch the action from the public “gallery”.
