ABOUT

Right now our new federal nature laws are being drafted. In the 20-year history of the EPBC Act, almost all of projects assessed by the Federal Government have been approved—even in cases of overwhelming community opposition and devastating impacts on nature.

Communities across Australia are coming together from Monday 30 October to Sunday 5 November to send a clear message to politicians: the community expects them to deliver strong laws—laws that will genuinely protect our globally significant ecosystems and species found nowhere else on earth.

Only when the public are empowered with laws, policies and regulations that deliver a fair say in environmental decision-making will we get better outcomes for people and nature.

Will you join our picnic & paint event in Hyde Park?

Join us for this family-friendly event where we’ll:

  • Enjoy a picnic, games, and entertainment with family and friends
  • Creatively colour, draw, decorate and write personal messages on a large banner featuring an array of iconic threatened species (see below), which we will then deliver to Patrick Gorman, Federal Labor MP for Perth
  • Meet and connect with others who care about our environment
  • Hear from experts and have conversations with locals about the need for transparent and accountable federal nature laws that change the status quo for nature

Please RSVP so we can have an idea of numbers. We look forward to seeing you there!
